PeopleNet Dispatch

Basic instructions for PeopleNet forms / dispatch

VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOLLOW THE STEPS IN ORDER!

IF YOU MISS A STEP OR PUT IN BAD INFORMATION, IT WILL IGNORE ALL THE NEXT STEPS YOU PUT IN
FOR EXAMPLE: IF YOU DON'T PUT IN AN ARRIVED AT SHIPPER, IT WON'T ACCEPT LOADED, ARRIVED AT CONSIGNEE, OR EMPTY.
IF YOU USE THE WRONG FORM, LIKE ARRIVED AT STOP OR ARRIVED AT CONSIGNEE FOR THE PICKUP, OR ARRIVED AT SHIPPER FOR THE CONSIGNEE, IT WON'T WORK AND WILL IGNORE THAT AND ANY FOLLOWING CALLS.

THE SYSTEM IS VERY VERY LITERAL AND VERY VERY STEP BY STEP
ONE STEP WRONG AND IT IS CONFUSED AND STOPS UNTIL IT IS MADE RIGHT

YOU HAVE TO TELL IT STEP BY STEP:
I ARRIVED AT SHIPPER
I GOT LOADED AT THE SHIPPER WITH THIS ORDER NUMBER
I ARRIVED AT THE CONSIGNEE
I GOT EMPTY AT THE CONSIGNEE WITH THIS ORDER NUMBER

Then you can move on to the next order number

EVEN IF YOU ARE PICKING UP AT THE SAME PLACE YOU ARE DELIVERING
EVEN IF YOU ARE PICKING UP A LOAD FROM PG, CANON'S OR GENELOW

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT LOAD #’s / ORDER #’s / TRIP #’s

Trip Numbers come across with the dispatch information – they are always 7 digits long and most likely will start with a 02 for years to come

If it comes across as 0240050, then any time you are asked for the trip number, that’s what you put in for Order Number or Trip Number

For loaded and empty calls, use the order number you are currently picking up or delivering

These will be required for multiple forms

Usual work flows

Hooking to a dropped load at PG, Canon’s, Genelow, etc

  • Follow all the same steps as picking up a load from a shipper – must do an ‘Arrive at shipper’ followed byLoaded call’ even here in the yard.

Load assignment

  • Load is dispatched and sent to you
    • Messages will come across in a group.
    • Review each message for the load information.
    • Write down the trip number – it will be needed for Loaded and Empty calls on that load
  • Move on to the workflow below
Load : Delivering it yourself, not Walmart
  • Go to the shipper
  • Send form “Arrived at Shipper”
  • Get the load, whether live or drop and hook
  • When you have bills in hand, send form “Loaded Call”
  • Send DVIR form if you change trailers
  • Take the load where you are dispatched
  • When you get at the receiver, send form “Arrived at Consignee”
  • When you have the POD in hand, send form “Empty Call”
  • Send DVIR form if you change trailers

Load : delivering it yourself, going to Walmart
  • When you get your dispatch info, in there should be noted whether this shows as having a stop-off on it or not. If it doesn’t have a stop-off, you can just do the normal work-flow above. This workflow is ONLY for Walmart loads that show having multiple stops.
  • Go to the shipper
  • Send form “Arrived at Shipper”
  • Get the load, whether live or drop and hook

  • When you get at the receiver, send the forms in the following order:

    • “Departed stop”
    • “Arrived at consignee”
  • When you have the POD in hand, send form “Empty Call”

Dropping and hooking Walmart loads

Some Walmart loads show as ‘multi-stop’ because of how they send orders over. They aren’t really multi-stop, but they have to be delivered off that way. This will show up in the order message that comes over as having an additional stop-off.

  • Arrived at Stop
  • Departure from Stop
  • Arrived at consignee
  • Empty call
    • Drop Trailer – Y
    • If you are picking up an empty, put it in at this time too

Dropping a loaded trailer at PG, Canon’s, Genelow or any place that isn’t the delivery customer

  • Terminate Call
    • Also known as a T-Call – you might see a ‘Preplanned T-Call’ come up in your dispatch at some point which just means we are planning on you dropping a loaded trailer somewhere

If you have stop-offs

  • Arrived at Stop
  • Departure from Stop
  • Arrived at consignee
  • Empty Call
